MHT CET PCM Exam Analysis: Student Reviews For April 26th Shift 1 and Shift 2

According to student reviews from the MHT CET 2025, April 26th – Shift 1 & Shift 2, here is a summary of what students perceived about the exam.

MHT CET PCM: Shift 1 (9:00 A.M., 12:00 P.M.)

Physics: This shift was of easy to moderate, with questions covering mainly Kinematics, Current Electricity, and Ray Optics. Most questions were direct, with answers based on a couple of given formulas. This subject tested how clearly the students had their concepts understood, and their time management skills.

Chemistry: MHT CET paper pattern for Chemistry is Moderate to difficult, with more than half of the problems relating to Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. Most of the problems were based on theory and taken directly from the NCERT and HSC books.

Mathematics: The most punishing of the exams, overall, was moderate to difficult and had the longest and had more calculations. The majority of problems were based on applications with enough theoretical knowledge, therefore requiring strong fundamentals, along with the quickest methods of dealing with problems.

MHT CET PCM: Shift 2 (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

Physics: MHT CET paper pattern of Physics was moderate and catered relatively more to numerical problem-solving, with problems requiring step-by-step and detailed calculations. Notable chapters were included in Capacitors (Dielectrics), Rotational Dynamics, and Resistors with Tolerance.

Chemistry: Students had an easy-to-moderate section similar to Shift 1 – most of the questions were theory-based from notebooks and textbooks.

Mathematics: This section was still moderate to tough, sought a lot of application-based and longer problems, particularly with Vectors, 3D Geometry, and Matrices. Many students said it was difficult to finish their papers because of the amount of calculations involved.

Conclusion

The MHT CET 2025 PCM exam, administered on April 26th, 2025, across Shift 1 and Shift 2, continued to maintain consistency in the pattern, closely following the Maharashtra State Board syllabus. Overall report from students was moderate in comparison, describing the difficulty levels with Mathematics being the most time-consuming and conceptually demanding section across both shifts. Students encountered Calculus, Vectors, and Probability with strong concepts required, and time management.

Physics varied slightly from shifts, as in Shift 1, which includes theory and numericals balanced with a bit on conceptual questions, whereas Transformer largely emphasised its core and application-based questions, for example, from Modern Physics, Kinematics, and Electrodynamics. MHT CET paper pattern for Chemistry, it continued to be the most scoring as a whole, considering very theory-based and textbook questions, particularly emphasis on Organic Chemistry and basic concepts from Physical Chemistry.

The April 26 MHT CET 2025 exam emphasised having a well-rounded prep strategy. Students with a core conceptual base, extensive practice of numericals, and theory from textbooks were in a prime position to score highly.

MHT CET question paper of 26th April has a good number of attempts, approximately 120 – 140 questions, with a very good accuracy level. Students taking the PCM exam from an Engineering aspirant perspective should have attempted almost all questions in Chemistry, and at least 80% of questions in Mathematics and Physics, depending on their level of confidence and accuracy.

2.  Were there any tricky or conceptually twisted questions in the MHT CET paper?

Yes, MHT CET question paper has a few practical or conceptually tricky questions that require multi-step thinking and a good level of clarity in fundamentals were available to students. Usually, these would come from 1- Modern Physics (concept of a radioactive half-life or the properties of ‘ideal gas’ in the context of evolution), 2- the Probability concept, and 3- Application of Derivatives.

3.  Was there a change of pattern or marking scheme from the MHT CET 2024 papers?

No, the MHT CET paper pattern PCM, and marking scheme remained the same for MHT CET 2025, with each question being 1 mark for correct responses, and all were not negatively marked, which allowed students to attempt a lot more.

4.  Did students seem to feel they got enough time on MHT CET exam 2025?

Time was a big issue in completing MHT CET question paper, especially in Math, which involved long calculations, and many indicated they were unable to review their answers, indicating that per-subject time allocations were not done correctly.
