JEE Main Session 2 Answer Key
The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Answer Key is expected to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in mid-April 2025. Candidates who appear for the exam that is to be conducted from April 2nd to April 8th, 2025, will be able to access the provisional answer key on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. This will help them evaluate their performance by comparing their responses with the official solutions. What happens after clearing JEE Main
1. Qualifying for JEE Advanced (For IIT Admissions)
- The top 2,50,000 candidates (as per category-wise cutoffs) become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
- Candidates need to register separately for JEE Advanced on the official website.
2. Admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs (Based on JEE Main Rank)
- Candidates who clear JEE Main with a good rank can apply for admission into NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and GFTIs (Government-Funded Technical Institutes).
- Admission is granted through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) Counselling.

3. JoSAA Counselling Process
- Registration & Choice Filling: Candidates register on the JoSAA portal and fill in their preferred institutes and courses.

- Seat Acceptance & Reporting: Candidates allotted seats must accept the seat, pay the fee, and report to the allotted institute for document verification.
4. CSAB Counselling (For Vacant Seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs)
- If seats remain vacant after JoSAA rounds, they are filled through the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) Counselling.
5. Admission to State Engineering Colleges
- Many state-level engineering colleges accept JEE Main scores for admission, including those in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and others.
- Candidates need to apply through their respective state counselling portals.
JEE Main Counselling
The JoSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority) allots seats for the JEE Main Qualified candidates. The JoSAA counselling is conducted at the national level to allocate seats in institutes like IITs, IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs.JoSAA counseling will tentatively be on June 3rd, 2025. The counselling is expected to be conducted in 5 rounds. The students who are qualified in the JEE Advanced exam can attempt the JEE Main exam. A total of 121 Institutes will be participating in JEE Main counseling.
