The Registrations for JEE will close soon the last date for applying for the exam is 25th February 2025. The Candidates can apply for the examination on the official website(jeemain.nta.nic.in). The registration window is active till 25th February 2025 and the exam is scheduled from 2nd April 2025 to 8th April 2025.

The Last Date for Payment of the Application fee online is 25th February 2025 at 11:50 PM. The Candidates who have applied for Session 1 and want to appear for Session 2 can log in with their previous application number and password. If the candidate is applying for the first time they have to apply afresh application. The Candidates should fill out only one application form.

Eligibility for JEE Main Session 2

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 remain the same as those for Session 1. Candidates who appeared for Session 1 are eligible to register for Session 2, and those who missed the first session can still apply for the second. There is no mandatory requirement to have attempted Session 1 to appear in Session 2. Here are some of the criteria for JEE Main Eligibility

  • Candidate must have passed the Class 12th Examination
  • Both students who appeared for the First session and who did not register for session 1 are eligible 
  • Even if you have registered for Session 1 you need to submit a separate application form for Session 2.
  • The eligibility for JEE Advanced will depend on the best of 2 sessions.

How to Apply for JEE Main Session 2?

Registration for JEE Main Session 2 can be done through the official website. There is a Different Procedure for students who are applying for the first time and students who have already applied for Session 1. Here is the detailed guide on How to apply for the JEE Main exam.

Registration Procedure for  Candidates Who Applied for Session 1

  • Visit the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in)
  • Access the Registration Link.

  • Click on Already Existing Candidate and Login.
  • Give the Application Number, Password, and Captcha.
  • Candidates need to upload their Photograph and Signature.
  • Pay the application fee using net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI
  • Save the Confirmation Page for future reference.

Registration Procedure for Candidates Applying  for Session 2 

  • Visit the official website(jeemain.nta.nic.in)
  • Access the Registration Link.
  • Click on New Registration 
  • The Registration Form Tab with Personal details will open Give all details required such as the candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, and gender.
  • Confirm the personal details and enter your present address, electronic communication address, and permanent address.
  • If the permanent address is the same as the present address click on the check box.
  • Choose a password, security question, and answer, and click on submit.
  • In the Application Form, the candidate needs to fill in the following details.
    • Personal details: Name, category, nationality, place of residence and annual family income
    • Identity Details: Identity Details, Aadhar Details and Aadhar Number.
    • Exam and Center Details: City Preferences and Guardian Qualification
    • Qualification Details: Candidates’ 10th and 12th marks details.
    • Emergency Contact Details: Details of the person who should be contacted in case of emergency.

      • Passport size photograph (Format: JPG/JPEG, File Size:10kb-300kb, Dimensions:3.5c.mX 4.5c.m)

What’s New in JEE Main 2025 Registration Process

The Registration procedure for JEE Main 2025 has been changed compared to previous years. Here are the new changes in the JEE Main 2025 registration Process.

  • Aadhar Verification Process: The NTA has addressed the issues arising from the name Mismatches of 10th certificates and Aadhar card names. If an error occurs during Aadhar authentication candidates can close the pop-up message and enter the same name as in the Aadhar card.
  • Elimination of Age Criteria: The Age Criteria have been removed for the JEE Main exam any candidate who meets the qualification can write the examination.
  • Exam centers reduced: The number of exam centers has been reduced from 300 to 284 for domestic candidates.
  • DigiLocker: The option to use Digilocker or ABC ID has been removed
  • Photo and Signature Guidelines: JEE Main photo and signature guidelines have been revised. The size of the uploaded image and PDF has been changed

How to Check JEE Main 2025 Application Form Status?

The Application status is important for JEE Main as the application can be accepted or rejected by NTA. Here is how you can check the application status

  • Visit the official website(jeemain.nta.nic.in)
  • Click on the Registered Candidate Login Link
  • Log in with your credentials application number and password.
  • Your Application Status will be displayed on the screen
  • If Application status is shown as submitted then your application is accepted by NTA otherwise the application has been rejected.

JEE Main Application Form Rejection Reasons

Many Applications were rejected by NTA due to errors in application form due to some common mistakes here are some of the common mistakes due to which an Application can get rejected

  • Submitting Application Form Twice: A Candidate can only complete the application form once. If a candidate fills out the application form twice. their application form will be rejected, and their application number will be treated as UFM(Unfair Means).
  • Errors in Non-editable Fields: Fields such as Email, Phone number, and Identification Number cannot be edited if a candidate makes errors in these fields, their application can be rejected.
  • Not Uploading Documents According to Specifications: Documents such as the photograph and signature of the candidate need to be uploaded according to the specifications given by the authority failing to do so may lead to application rejection.
  • Payment of Application Fee: If a candidate fails to pay the application fee, then their application can be rejected.
  • Wrong Category Number: For Reserved Category candidates if they give an incorrect category number, their application can be rejected.
  • Negative Marking for Section B: Negative marking for Section B has been introduced this year if a candidate makes any error, then there will be -1 negative marking. 

How to Avoid Application Rejection?

Here is how a candidate can avoid the application rejection

  • Follow the Information Bulletin: The Information Bulletin has all the details that are required to fill the application form step-by-step guidelines are given in the information bulletin, so if a candidate follows the information bulletin, they can avoid application rejection.
  • Follow the Guidelines set for Document Uploading: Follow the specifications that are set by the authorities for Photograph and Signature Uploading.

  • Check the details before submitting: Before submitting the application form verify the details in the non-editable fields so that the rejection can be prevented.

Note: If an Application is rejected, the candidates are allowed to edit the application during the application correction window.

JEE Mains 2025 Correction Window Link

NTA have announced the JEE Main 2025 session two correction window on 24th Feb 2025, and the Link will be active from 27th February 2025 to 28th February 2025 (Upto 11: 50 P.M). NTA also mentioned in the official notification that the last date for registration will be 25th February 2025 without any extension.

JEE Main Session 2 Exam Pattern 

The JEE Main Exam is conducted for a total of 300 marks. Paper 1 consists of 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each correct answer awarded 4 marks, while each incorrect answer incurs a penalty of 1 mark. Below is the section-wise breakdown of the JEE Main Pattern.
