Dress Code for Jee Mains 2025: Males & Females

The Joint Entrance Examination for 2025 session 1 will commence from January 22nd, 2025 to January 30th, 2025 and session 2 will happen between April 1st, 2025 to April 8th, 2025. NTA’s guidelines for exam day are mandatory for students to follow. Candidates are allowed to wear what they like with some exceptions on the exam day.  Exam Day Guidelines for Jee Mains 2025

Here are the set of guidelines students need to follow during the exam day.

• Candidates should stay away from any kind of malpractice and follow the code of conduct during exams.

• Candidates without original proof of their ID card, photograph, and admit card are not allowed to appear for the exam.

•  Candidates are advised to appear for the exam at least one hour before the set time to avoid last minute rush.

• Candidates are advised to visit the exam venue a day prior to the exam to familiarize themselves with the route and travel time, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience on the day of the exam.

• Any Misbehaviour should be avoided which includes Conversations, disturbances, or gestures.
• NTA will not be liable to conduct a re-test for a candidate under any circumstances.

Dress Code Guidelines for Males & Females

Although the NTA has not yet released specific guidelines for the JEE Main 2025 dress code, candidates are advised to follow the general recommendations provided below. The dress code primarily restricts the wearing of caps, scarves/stoles, and jewelry/metallic items. Students are also encouraged to dress according to the weather and season. It is important for candidates to familiarize themselves with these guidelines before the exam to ensure a smooth examination process.

Dress Code for Male

• Male candidates are prohibited from wearing any clothing that contains metallic elements as they can cause inconvenience during frisking.

• It is recommended to wear half-sleeves or comfortable clothing while writing the exam and clothes with drapes should be avoided.

• Students are not allowed to wear accessories covering their heads like mufflers, or caps.

• Wearing jewelry or ornaments is strictly prohibited.

• Students are prohibited from entering the exam hall with goggles, rings, bracelets, or any similar items.

• Candidates wearing shoes will undergo more rigorous checks. Therefore, it is recommended to wear slippers or sandals.

Dress Code for Female

• Female candidates should wear comfortable clothing considering the season and weather on the exam day.

• Candidates must avoid wearing metallic items or items containing metal, such as belts, underwired bras, and similar accessories.

• Wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans, or a top/kurta with leggings, would be more suitable. It is advised to choose clothing made from cotton, Khadi, or other breathable fabrics.

• Female candidates are prohibited from wearing rings, jewelry, bracelets, etc.

• Any fancy items like hats, scarves, watches, or sunglasses must be removed before entering the examination hall.

• Clothing with too many pockets should be avoided.

• Hoodies, sweatshirts, and tops with long sleeves should be avoided.
• Avoid complex hairstyles like bun hairstyles as the frisking process may take time.

Prohibited Items into Examination Hall for Jee Mains 2025

Students are prohibited from carrying certain items into the examination hall to ensure that the exam is conducted without any discrepancies. Here is the list of items that you should not carry with you to the exam hall.

• Water bottle & eatables
• Smartwatches
• Notebooks, papers, and other stationary items
• Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, cameras, calculators etc.

Jee Mains 2025 Rules and Regulations

• Arrival: Reach the exam center at least 1 or 2 hours before the scheduled time to complete all the security checks.

• Seating: Take your seat and listen to the instructions carefully. Only sit in your designated seat as changing seats can result in disqualification.

• Admit card & ID: Carry your original ID along with your admit card as you are not allowed to write the exam without these.

• Confirmation: Confirm details on the screen match with your admit card, and inform the invigilator incase of a mismatch.

• False Information: Providing false information or attempting to attend multiple sessions will result in disqualification, and your result will not be declared.

• Missing the Exam: There will be no re-test in case you miss the exam.

• Rough work: Rough work should only be done on the paper provided and submit the paper after completing the exam.
