Glimpse of NIAT Placements & Workshops
As NIAT placements are focused on collaborating with top tech giants to help students build a better future with them, Workshops are often conducted to give them real-world exposure. Have a look at NIAT’s Workshop projects:
1. Life Saving Drones
First-year students, some with no prior experience, learned about drone technology, its components, and its potential applications, such as waste collection in slums and neutralizing toxic gases in mines. The workshop combined theoretical learning with practical, hands-on experience, including building and flying their own drones using mobile controls and programming them through Signas ID.
2. Productivity Game in 12 Hours
The team is built a gamified productivity app to motivate users to study or be productive by offering rewards and incentives. Users input tasks, and AI calculates completion time, granting XP. Leaderboards rank users by XP. The website will feature hero and monster avatars, where completing quests (quizzes) increases XP and helps defeat the monster. The time taken for a quest influences XP gain. Future plans include an adventure map of completed quests and a coupon system for real-life discounts. The app is being built as a no-coding website using AI tools for design and planning.
3. Building Website in 7 Hours
Students from NIAT built a static website for event management. It took them about 3 hours to fully complete the prototype. They were inspired by a health monitoring device idea but focused on the event website. One student had previously built a similar website in 2.5 hours. They view this as a “starting step to building something good”.
4. Self Driving Car
The workshop highlighted physical AI, where machines can see and think, a concept emphasized by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. This technology has the potential to revolutionize industries like manufacturing and warehousing through automation and robotics. The workshop also included coding, simulations, and live demonstrations of vehicles and parts, providing a clear understanding of AI self-driving car functionality.
