• Ignoring the Instructions on the Screen: Sometimes students miss reading the on-screen guidelines and then skip vital steps. Always make sure you read all instructions that are given on the screen before you begin the test.
• Not Understanding the Sequence of Sections: If you have chosen Slot 1 for your Phase 1 exam, you will face four sections: two domain-based, one General Knowledge, and one language section. An important point to remember is that once the time for a particular section ends, the system will automatically move you to the next section. Therefore, do not panic during the exam and make sure to start with the section you are most confident in. There is no strict rule that you must begin with the language section just because you selected it first during registration.
• Spending Too Much Time on Difficult Questions: You should avoid spending too much time on one question, which could lead to negatively impact your overall score. Instead, if you feel stuck, skip the question and move on. Timing ( or clock management) is the key; if you manage your time wisely, you should be able to attempt more questions correctly.
• Guessing Blindly Without Eliminating Choices: Remember that CUET has negative marking, so do not guess blindly. You can make educated guesses if you can narrow down the choices to at least one or two wrong answer options.
• Not Reading Questions Properly: Because students are often in such a rush to finish the exam, they misread the details of the question. Make sure to always read the question at least twice, so that you truly understand what is being asked of you before you choose your answer.
• Getting Anxious During System Issues: When your system lags or freezes, do not get anxious. Calmly inform the invigilator. Your answers will usually have been auto-saved to date, and you will receive assistance with the system issue.
• Forgetting to Use ‘Mark for Review’: The mark for review option allows you to go back to questions you are unsure about later. Use “mark for review” wisely, as you do not want to waste valuable time on difficult questions during the first time around.

1. Do Not Start New Topics
   Don’t start new topics or chapters in the last few days, as it can lead to confusion and unnecessary anxiety.
   
2. Do Not Forget To Revise
   Don’t ignore the revision of important formulas, key concepts, and shortcuts you have gone through. Don’t do only difficult problems and ignore the basics, as both are equally important in the exam.
   
3. Overloading on Study Material
   Overloading yourself with study materials is a common mistake among students. While having high-quality resources is important, many students believe that their preparation will improve simply by accumulating more books. This often leads to confusion, distraction, and difficulty in grasping fundamental concepts. Instead, it’s better to limit yourself to a select few reliable and well-known resources, such as NCERT textbooks, study guides, and previous years’ questions (PYQS). Take a structured approach to your studies and focus on understanding the concepts, rather than bouncing between different books and notes.
   
4. Avoid pulling an all-nighter on the last day.
   Don’t do an all-nighter because not having proper sleep will negatively impact memory and attention.
   
5. Skipping Mock Tests 
   Do not avoid mock tests in your final days. If you avoid mocks, you have not practised time management or how your actual exam will be. Students need to take at least 3-4 mock tests and go through previous year papers to be more confident.
   
6. Not Reviewing all Errors 
   Many students overlook the various ways they can make mistakes in their mock tests. It is important to review the mistakes you made, understand the concepts behind each one, and revise the relevant topics thoroughly.
   
7. Not Taking Breaks. 
   As the exam approaches, make sure to take short breaks between study sessions. If you don’t take breaks, you may experience burnout or exhaustion on exam day.
   
8. Double Check The Exam Day Rules
   Always adhere to exam day rules, guidelines, and requirements. Familiarise yourself with the exam centre location and ensure all documents are ready. The rules and regulations are outlined on the admit card itself.
   
9. Poor Health Management
   Sleeping poorly, eating poorly, and taking no breaks can negatively affect performance. Students should maintain a healthy diet, get enough rest, and take short breaks to stay mentally and physically fit while studying.

CUET Exam 2025: Things to Carry

Candidates must bring the following documents to the CUET exam centre. Failure to bring the required documents may result in not being allowed to sit for the exam.

• CUET Admit Card
• CUET Self-Declaration Form to be downloaded from the NTA website.
• 2 to 3 passport-size photographs (same as one uploaded on the application form)
• Any of the following authorized photo IDs:
  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank Passbook
• A transparent ballpoint pen
• A transparent water bottle
• PwD/PwDB certificate (if applicable)

Instructions For PwD Candidates at Exam Centres

• Eligible PwD candidates classified with 40% or more disability are provided extra time during the examination.
• Candidates with disabilities are allowed to use a scribe if they are eligible and request the exam authority. Their scribe should not come from the same academic background as the candidate to ensure fairness in the exam.
• Usually, candidates for PwD had separate sitting arrangements to make it more comfortable. PwD sitting provisions are often made on the ground floor.
• Most examination centers have wheelchair ramps and other mobility supports to assist candidates to their designated rooms.
• Designated support staff are available at the exam centres to help PwD candidates navigate the premises before and after the exam, but not during the exam itself.
