NxtWave Admission Test (NAT) 2025

Students must appear for the NxtWave Admission Test (NAT) for admission to the Btech course at NIAT. NAT is a 90-minute online entrance exam focusing on the candidate’s cognitive abilities and potential as a future tech innovator. There are 3 sections in the test that assess the different skills of a student. Candidates must have 50% in the 10+2 level to be eligible for NAT.

NxtWave Admission Test (NAT) Syllabus

The NAT 2025 syllabus mainly focuses on problem-solving skills and logical reasoning. To prepare for the test, you need to cover topics like number theory, time & work, ratios, coding/decoding, and blood relations. The students need to prepare quantitative aptitude topics like sets, probability, and polynomials. How to Apply For NAT Exam?

NAT registration is through the official website of NIAT Hyderabad. Students need to make INR 600 as the registration fee to apply for NIAT admission 2025. Check the steps given below to know the NAT registration process.

  • Visit the official website of NIAT: https://www.niatindia.com/
  • Click on “Apply Now” on the top right corner of the homepage. The students can also go to the “Admissions” tab and click on “Apply Now”.
  • Give your mobile number and verify it with an OTP to proceed with the registration process. Make sure you give a valid mobile number and that you are within the network area to successfully receive the OTP.

Now you will have two options in front of you!

  • For Students: Add your name, address, phone, and mail ID, along with your academic. The students also need to add their parents’ details, which include names, family income, phone number, and occupation category.
  • For Parents: If you are a parent filling out the registration form, then you need to add your name, phone number, family income, and occupation category along with all the student details.

NOTE: Make sure every personal detail you are adding is correct, and there are no discrepancies.

  • After carefully filling out all the details, students can proceed to book the NAT exam slot. Here, the student can opt whether they want to appear for the test “ Right Now” or “Later”. If later, then they can select the date and time of the NAT exam. 
  • Congratulations on the successful registration. The next step involves payment of the application fee.
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee of INR 600. Click on “Continue to Pay”. This fee will not be refunded even if the student does not appear for the test.
  • The payment can be made by card, UPI modes, and NetBanking through ICICI and Axis Bank. Students can also use Wallets like MobiKwik, Ola Money, etc., to make the payment. Add your card or UPI ID after selecting the method to pay the registration fee.
  • Voila, the payment is successful, and your NAT exam slot is booked. Now, you need to prepare for the NAT exam to enroll in NIAT.

Counselling Process For NIAT

After the students qualify for NAT Exam, they need to attend a one-on-one counselling session. The counseling session will help in understanding the students’ goals, dreams, passion, and plan for the future. The data will help in assessing properly how well you fit for the course.

The counselling session, NAT results, and the student’s past academic records will contribute to determining eligibility for a scholarship.

There are separate NIAT counselling sessions for both the Parents and the Students. Check some of the criteria you should keep in mind while attending the session.

The students will be asked about their short-term goals, such as what projects they want to do and the topics they want to cover.E.g.: Why are you interested in the course?What do you want to achieve with the course?Counselling with the parents is very important as it helps NIAT in understanding the requirements of the students. Their educational requirement and how it aligns with the NIAT curriculum.
Students must prepare and think about what they want to do after finishing the course. The counselling session will help them understand their long-term goals that align with their skills and learnings.E.g.: Do you want to be an Entrepreneur?What is the job profile you will be most interested in?The Parents can elaborate on the type of co-curricular activities they are interested in. With education, hobbies are also vital for the holistic growth and learning of students.
The counsellor will ask you about your Dream Company and why you want to join the company. This answer will give a clear picture of your goal in life and the type of company and work culture you are looking for.The session will frankly and honestly discuss the financial situation of the parents and, based on the performance of the students, how much scholarship they can get. This will reduce the financial burden on the parents.
Finally, the session will discuss the course and the culture of NIAT. What the Institute is offering and how it aligns with their career goal.Parents can help in getting a clear picture of their expectations from the 4 year course and the outcome. 1. If I have PCB in my 10+2 level, can I appear for NAT Exam at NIAT?

No, if you have Biology in your class 12 level, you cannot appear for NAT. The courses offered in NIAT include BTech CSE, which requires PCM in the 10+2 level to be eligible with a minimum qualifying mark of 50.
