JEE Main Session 2 Schedule Released

The JEE Main Session 2 schedule has been released by the NTA. As per the schedule, the exam will start on April 2nd, 2025, and the Last date of examination for Paper -1A(B.E/B.Tech) is 8th April 2025, and the Paper 2 A and Paper 2 B Exam will be conducted on 9th April 2025. The First shift will be conducted from 9:00 A.M to 12:00 p.m. The second shift will be conducted from  3:00 P.M to 6:00 p.m.

For Paper 2 A(B.Arch) and Paper 2 B(B.Planning) and Paper 2 A and 2 B(Both B.Arch and B.Planning), the exam will be conducted on 9th April 2025 in one shift. The shift timings are 9:00 A.M to 12:30 P.M.The exam is conducted for 3 and half hours.

JEE Main Admit Card Date

The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 admit card is expected to be released in the first week of April 2025. Candidates who have successfully registered for the exam will be able to download their hall tickets from the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in, by entering their application number and date of birth. The Admit card will contain important details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam date, shift timing, exam center details, and important instructions. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID to the examination center.

Normalisation is a procedure to requalrize the marks obtained by the students to the toughness of the paper. The Normalization is used by NTA to ensure the fairness of the exam and to provide equal opportunity to all the students.

JEE Main Session 2 Answer Key

The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Answer Key is expected to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in mid-April 2025. Candidates who appear for the exam that is to be conducted from April 2nd to April 8th, 2025, will be able to access the provisional answer key on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. This will help them evaluate their performance by comparing their responses with the official solutions. NTA will also open a challenge window, allowing candidates to raise objections by paying a nominal fee per question. After reviewing the challenges, the final answer key will be released, followed by the declaration of results, which is expected towards the end of April 2025.

JEE Main Session 2 Results

Candidates who appear for the exam from 2nd April to 8th April 2025 will be able to check their scores on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in.The JEE Main Session 2 results will tentatively be released in the last week of April 2025. The results will include the candidate’s percentile scores, all India Rank (AIR), and category-wise rank. These scores will be crucial for students aspiring for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutions, as well as for those aiming to qualify for JEE Advanced 2025.

What happens after clearing JEE Main

1. Qualifying for JEE Advanced (For IIT Admissions)

  • The top 2,50,000 candidates (as per category-wise cutoffs) become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
  • Candidates need to register separately for JEE Advanced on the official website.

2. Admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs (Based on JEE Main Rank)

  • Candidates who clear JEE Main with a good rank can apply for admission into NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and GFTIs (Government-Funded Technical Institutes).
  • Admission is granted through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) Counselling.
  • JoSAA releases cutoff ranks for different categories and institutes on the official website

3. JoSAA Counselling Process

  • Registration & Choice Filling: Candidates register on the JoSAA portal and fill in their preferred institutes and courses.
  • Seat Allocation Rounds: Multiple rounds of seat allotment take place based on JEE Main rank, category, and seat availability.
  • Seat Acceptance & Reporting: Candidates allotted seats must accept the seat, pay the fee, and report to the allotted institute for document verification.

4. CSAB Counselling (For Vacant Seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs)

  • If seats remain vacant after JoSAA rounds, they are filled through the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) Counselling.

5. Admission to State Engineering Colleges

  • Many state-level engineering colleges accept JEE Main scores for admission, including those in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and others.
  • Candidates need to apply through their respective state counselling portals.

JEE Main Counselling 

The JoSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority) allots seats for the JEE Main Qualified candidates. The JoSAA counselling is conducted at the national level to allocate seats in institutes like  IITs, IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs.JoSAA counseling will tentatively be on June 3rd, 2025. The counselling is expected to be conducted in 5 rounds. The students who are qualified in the JEE Advanced exam can attempt the JEE Main exam. A total of 121 Institutes will be participating in JEE Main counseling.
